I want to ask for you one second to forget everything you think you know about social media, and lets start from zero. Social media for business. What is it? I did some research and I came up with this definition.
Social media for business is a type of internet marketing that involves using strategic methods in the creation and sharing of relevant content on social media networks, in order to achieve marketing and branding goals.
What are these marketing and branding goals?
Validate and promote awareness.
Increase costumer base and interact with current customers.
Establish your brand as an authority.
Increase traffic to your website or landing page.
Improve brand loyalty.
Why is this important?
Well, what is the first thing we all do when we need a product or service? Don’t we go to the internet?! We Google it! That’s why it is very important to have a social media presence. Because it tells consumers that a brand is active and that we are ready to communicate with them.
In social media there is three core principles:
People need to know you.
People need to like you.
People need to trust you.
If people don’t know who you are, they won’t do business with you. That’s it!
So again, social media allows you… business owner, to connect, prospect, and make yourself known, to those that may have an interest on your service or product.
Now, the key to this to work is that you need know, you must know social media, or at the very least understand how it works and appreciate the value it can offer to your business.
